Now, 7 years later, Laurie returns as High Performance Rodeo Artist-in-Residence, with Another Day in America, an intimate work–in–progress about exactly that. Since her breakthrough work, Duets on Ice, in which she wore skates frozen into a block of ice and played violin until the ice melted away, she has made over ten albums featuring collaborations with major counter–culture figures like William S. Burroughs, Brian Eno, Philip Glass, Andy Kaufman, and her husband and longtime partner, Lou Reed. Anderson has mastered the realms of avant–garde art, literature, film, experimental music, and even technology, inventing instruments such as tape–bow violins and voice filters.

With Another Day in America, Anderson brings her nihilistic yet optimistic view of American survivalism into the new century. Which way do we go? What are days for?
