Theatre Junction is committed to developing a cultural context for contemporary performance in the city of Calgary. Our outreach programs reflect our belief that the education of youth, through our Mentorship Student Program, and the education (activation) of our audiences through artist talks and workshops with the artists, will foster a vibrant community.
The Mentorship Student Program
Every year Theatre Junction’s award-winning High School Mentorship Program offers high school students the unique opportunity to learn experientially about contemporary performance practices, while developing mentoring relationships with theatre professionals.
The Student Internship Program
Every year Theatre Junction collaborates with the University of Calgary to create a rich and challenging experience for a student in the School of Creative and Performing Arts.
An internship at Theatre Junction provides a large spectrum of what it means to be involved in the contemporary live arts, while bridging the gap between post-secondary and professional work in a creative and vibrant environment.
Local, national and international artists are invited to participate in post- performance discussions with the audience, mediated by members of our team. Artist Talks give the public the opportunity to interact directly with the work they have just experienced.
National and international artists give workshops sharing their various art-practices with Calgary’s artistic community.
