La Nuit Sauvage: The Dream Factory is only a couple days away and we are in full preparation mode! The building is buzzing with artists coming in to set up their pieces but what is getting left behind…outfits! We are all asking ourselves what do we wear to La Nuit Sauvage? Thankfully, local stylist Aldona B. saved the day and went on Global TV to share some inspiration! And we are lucky enough to have her taking over the blog today, check it out!
LOOK ONE: PJ Inspired from Gravity Pope
Since the event is called The Dream Factory, I decided to go with a little PJ inspired look to kick things off. These wide legged pants are the perfect combination of length, fabrication, colour and stripe – and I couldn’t help myself with adding extra colour and print with a fabulous Adidas bomber jacket. Because my lovely model for this look is very petite, I decided to go with a high shoe, although a sneaker or flat would also work.
Because Gravity Pope also carries clothing, I was able to do the entire head-to-toe look with them, which really makes me happy – I could easily spend an entire day getting lost in outfit creation at their stunning 17th avenue location.
Red Bloom took the look into another dimension of cool with stunning braids and the addition of some flowers to complete the look. LOVE!
LOOK TWO: Fun with Prints from Gravity Pope
As I already mentioned, I wanted to pull pieces that would not only be great for this event, but can also be easily integrated into your existing wardrobe, and I feel like this look did just that. The striped jacket is perfect to wear again with denim, leggings or dresses, and you can keep it neutral with solid tones or add a lot of colour to go along with it. You can wear it open or tied up, as you saw here, and to add more interest, I definitely played with some colour – the yellow shoes, green clutch, pops of red in the T-shirt, and of course, some seriously orange lips.
LOOK THREE: Pretty in Pink from Kate Hewko
I’m in love with Kate Hewko’s entire store. She recently opened up a location in the Devinish building on 17th Avenue, and I was thrilled to be able to feature an entire outfit from her collection. The sequinned pencil skirt is perfection, and I added some fun elements to make this look event ready – and I had to throw in a pair of sneakers from Danielle’s Consignment to add a more laid back vibe. No heels necessary ladies!
LOOK FOUR: Black from NRT Fashions
I was first introduced to local designer NRT Fashions a few years ago, and it’s been a pleasure seeing her grow and expand her business. I love her dark aesthetic and the unique and artistic flare that she showcases through all of her clothing. For this segment I pulled one of her Vengeance Coats, which she’s become very well known for.
ALL IN THE DETAILS
One of the best ways to really have a blast with your personal style and to amp up your look is through hair and makeup. We had the pleasure of partnering up with Red Bloom salon for these incredible hair looks, and completed each outfit with a super bright bold lip. Lipstick by NYX Cosmetics.
My outfit for the segment was a little mixture of what the models wore – I wore the amazing Kate Hewko denim and sequin blazer that I’m so in love with and can’t wait to rock again, with an amazing pair of shoes from Gravity Pope. The best part – I’ll be wearing both again to the event on Saturday (although be warned, there will be much more sequins and glitter involved in Saturday’s ensemble). A little hair Tattoo, courtesy of Red Bloom, and I was TV ready!
