Make the future of LIVE ART possible at Calgary’s historic GRAND theatre.
Without support from citizens, the public sector and private organizations, we would not be able to bring leading-edge, international live art to Calgary,
or to present the remarkable creations of our local artists.
Donations and sponsorships support our mentorship program for Calgary high-school students, pay the wages of artists, keep ticket prices accessible, maintain the 102-year old GRAND theatre, and help us bring the world, through art, to Calgary.
Show your love for contemporary LIVE ART and donate this season.

Your donation belongs to a GRAND philanthropic legacy…
Over 100 years ago, Sir James Lougheed had the vision to include a theatre in the design and construction of the Lougheed Block. He believed that equal parts business and culture were the foundations of a great city. The Sherman Grand was soon established as the premiere theatre in the Pacific Northwest hosting great artists from around the world including the likes of Sarah Bernhardt, The Marx Brothers, Yehudi Menuhin, Paul Robeson and many others. The Grand immediately became the centre of Calgary’s cultural, social and political life. In 2005, Theatre Junction, under the direction of Mark Lawes, saved the GRAND from demolition, breathing new life into Calgary’s oldest theatre and establishing Theatre Junction GRAND as one of the leading contemporary theatres in Canada.
