AUTOFICTION. DJ SET. ANDROGYNY.
How do you not choose gender, or even be defined by it, but just be? Life stories, home video, queer culture, performance art, academia, androgyny and music combust into a pulsating and explosive hymn to the freedom of being, where fiction and autobiography collide.
Boundary blurring, genre-defining, visually ravishing.

Use of English Subtitles
80 minutes in length, no intermission
MDLSX is an experience not to be missed; a show that quotes queer studies, gender literature, but that also goes well beyond all this. Silvia Calderoni and her androgynous body, which becomes hypnotic and post-human on stage, allows us to enter in a truly mythical dimension, while turning upside down our categories; as we leave, overwhelmed and grateful to MDSLX, we conceive what are the female and male dimensions in a way that can only be different, and together we remember that making politics can never happen without taking the responsibility of our own voice and the experience of our senses.

Take part in Theatre Junction’s Masterclass with Motus directors Daniela Nicolò and Enrico Casagrande!
Through pictures and videos, the Masterclass will narrate the creative process behind Motus’ projects which have taken the company around the world.
Since its birth in the ‘90s, Motus has been a part of hyper-contemporary trends in the theatre, performing the work of groundbreaking authors and leading to their radical reinterpretation of Antigone in light of the Greek crisis with the Syrma Antigónes project, which included the widely acclaimed show Alexis. A Greek tragedy.
Their successive research path entitled Animale Politico Project started with The Plot is the Revolution,a moving encounter between “two Antigones”, Silvia Calderoni and the mythical figure of political theatre, Judith Malina from The Living Theatre.
In 2015, Motus embarked on a new project asking the question – who traces borders? The new itinerary tackled the theme of borders and conflict through various research processes. Then followed the path that began from the tensions on the edges that we live inside our own bodies – about sex and gender – with the performances MDLSX (2015) and Raffiche (2016), and currently with an explosive performance on the human right to be in movement with Panorama.
