Home / Wrought

April 11 – 14, 2018

A stark white, round room, two revolving bars, two women dancing and spinning seamlessly around in a spellbinding and intimate testimony of how movement reveals not only each dancer’s individuality but the core of who they are.

Poetic, tender and all encompassing.

Ages 10+ performance

60 minutes in length, no intermission

… these “WROUGHT” solos are on the cusp of the soporific. I enjoy the frank calm of both these women — Ms. Juodkaite even talks as she spins — until it tips, repeatedly, into self-indulgence. Ms. Hanauer dances to an incoherent, rambling rendition of “Feelings” by Nina Simone, but Simone’s voice, even on a bad day, has a range of texture that are more compelling than anything here.

Ever wonder what inspiration is behind a piece of theatre or dance? Are you curious about where artists draw their inspiration from for their characters?

Artist Talks provide you the opportunity to pick the brains of writers, performers and have a conversation about the issues that brought a work to life. Artist Talks are free and take place on Thursday and Friday performance nights, immediately following the show.

Artist Talk Host to be announced in the New Year. Stay Tuned.

A free three-hour intensive class with visionary artists for local professionals.
